ISRO’s would record by launching 104 Satellite in Single Flight

TIL Desk/National/Sriharikota/ ISRO is attempting a new world record by launching 104 satellites in a single flight of PSLVC 37 from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

The main passenger is the Earth-mapping Cartosat 2 series satellite, which weighs 714 kg. Among the 104 satellites are many belonging to international customers. Small satellites belong to the US, Israel, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates will be launched. 96 of the satellites belong to the US.

In the past, the Russian Space Agency has launched 37 satellites in one go. This will be ISRO’s second successful attempt after the launch of 23 satellites in a single rocket in June 2015.

As the scientists at the Mission Control centre broke into cheers, ISRO Chairman A.S. Kiran Kumar announced: “All 104 satellites successfully placed in orbit. My hearty congratulations to the entire ISRO team for the wonderful job they have done.” Earlier, the Russian Space Agency had launched 37 satellites in one go.
