Journalist Pawan Jaiswal who Exposed 'Salt-Roti' Mid-Day meal story passes away

TIL Desk/National/Mirzapur/ Mirzapur-based Freelance journalist Pawan Jaiswal, who exposed the news of children being fed salt roti in the mid-day meal, lost his battle with cancer. His condition was very critical for a long time. There was no money for treatment. Apart from AAP MP Sanjay Singh, some other journalists had come forward to help Pawan Jaiswal financially, but all these help also proved insufficient and Pawan could not win from cancer.

It may be mentioned that about a month ago, journalist Pawan Jaiswal informed about his critical condition to AAP MP Sanjay Singh on WhatsApp. He told, he is again admitted in Varanasi for the last one month. He has been operated again, in which one and a half lakh rupees have been spent. 4 lakh has already been spent. Pawan Jaiswal has written that now he does not have money to buy even daily medicines.

Journalist Pawan Jaiswal came into the limelight after exposing the news of children being fed salt roti in mid-day meal at a primary school in Mirzapur.  After which a case was registered against Pawan Jaiswal itself. Against which journalists protested across the country. The Press Counseling of India (PCI) had taken suo motu cognizance of the matter. After the intervention of the Press Council of India, Mirzapur Police removed the name of the journalist from the case. Uttar Pradesh government more power on withdrawal of case registered against Pawan Jaiswal.
