Modi's Govt. double standards' over ending the Haj Subsidy

TIL Desk/National/Hyderabad/ AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has raised questions on the Central government’s ‘double standards’ over ending the Haj subsidy and criminalising Triple Talaq.

Taking a cue from the on-going Padmavaat controversy, Owaisi said, “For a film, PM Modi appointed a 12-member committee to review its content. But for triple talaq bill, nobody was called to review. The Rajputs have shown us the mirror. They are opposing the film’s release because their Rani has been shown in a bad light. This is their rage. Despite getting its name changed, they are still not allowing the film’s release. What are we doing to save Shariat?”

“What I saw in in Lok Sabha felt like December 6 was happening in front of my eyes. I felt the same pain that day,” he added. The leader was addressing a public meeting in Warangal district of Telangana.

Asaduddin Owaisi also challenged the government to end Hindu appeasement politics. “There is so much of hue and cry over the Rs 200 crore haj subsidy. My question to the BJP is, will they remove article 290A of the Constitution like they got a bill criminalising Triple Talaq? They called Haj subsidy as appeasement, but when they do, is it not vote bank politics?”
