TIL Desk/National/Aligarh/ Uttar Pradesh leads the way in development campaigns, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today – months ahead of the state elections – as he launched a university named after a Jat icon in Aligarh. “It gives me tremendous satisfaction that UP, which was once seen as a hindrance to the country’s development, is today leading the biggest development campaigns of the country,” the Prime Minister said at an event to mark the launch of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University in Aligarh.
“The Central government and the Yogi government is working together for the development of Uttar Pradesh. We have to fight forces that are against development in the state. “There was a time when the administration was run by goons, governance was in the hands of the corrupt, but now such people are behind the bars.
“Today, Uttar Pradesh is becoming an attractive place every small and big investor of the country and the world. This happens when the right environment is created for development. Yogi govt is working towards development in the state” PM Modi added while praising Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and taking a swipe at rivals who have used the “double-engine” dig in the past to attack the BJP.
“Today, not only the country, but world is also seeing that from modern grenades and rifles to fighter aircraft, drones, warships are being manufactured in India itself. India is moving towards making a new identity of a defence exporter,” Modi said.
