TIL Desk/National/New Delhi/ Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Tuesday meet the top military chiefs of the country to oversee the security situation after Indian Army conducted surgical strikes against terrorists across the Line of Control in September. The meeting between PM Modi and three Service Chiefs is reported to take place at Prime Minister’s official residence in New Delhi at 2:00 pm today. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar is also expected to be present at the meeting.
As per the report, PM Modi will take stock of the prevailing security situation and defense matters with Army Chief General Dalbir Singh, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha and Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba.
Apart from reviewing the security situation, PM Modi is also likely to address the grievances of the Forces. The meeting comes in the backdrop of repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops along the Indo-Pak border.
A record number of infiltration attempts along the international border have also been witnessed in recent time. As per the report, the Border Security Force personnel have foiled at least 15 infiltration bids since India conducted surgical strikes to destroy terrorist launch pads across the LoC on September 29.
