TIL Desk/National/Mumbai/ Key BJP ally Shiv Sena has stepped up its attack on the Centre over the mutilation of two Indian jawans by Pakistani forces, saying mere condemnation will not be enough and asked whether those against cow slaughter are fine with killing of soldiers. As the Modi government came under increasing pressure for action against Pakistan, the Sena said the neighbouring country should be taught a lesson.
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray yesterday advised Prime Minister Narendra Modi to stop his ‘Mann ki Baat’ and instead start ‘Gun ki Baat’ to punish Pakistan for killing two Indian soldiers and mutilating their bodies. “It’s time…he (the PM) stops that (‘Mann ki Baat’) and starts ‘Gun ki Baat’ with Pakistan to teach it a lesson,” he said, adding whatever needs to be done on the matter “has to be done now”.
In a stinging editorial in party mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ today, the Sena said the sorry state of affairs in the nation can be gauged from the fact that a tiny country like Pakistan is slaying the self-respect of India everyday.
