TIL Desk Sports/ Ace Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth crashed out of the ongoing Japan Super Series after suffering a defeat in the quarter-finals of the men’s singles event here on Friday.
Despite winning the opening game, the eight-seeded failed to capitalize and went on to suffer an 18-21, 21-14, 21-19 defeat in a thrilling last-eight contest that lasted about an hour.
With his exit, India’s challenge in the tournament also folded. Earlier, Srikanth had trounced compatriots Ajay Jayaram and Parupalli Kashyap to progress through to the quarterfinals of the men’s singles event.
