- FICCI FLO Lucknow Chapter organized a seminar to promote women entrepreneurship at Hotel Clarks Avadh
TIL Desk Lucknow:
Two sisters, Sujata’s initials are SU and Tanya’s initials TA, built a saree empire under the name SUTA, making their brand a model of female entrepreneurship. Nine years ago, when the world thought sarees were fading away, Su and Ta transformed this thought into a revolution. Their names combined to form SUTA. Coincidentally, “suta” also means thread in Bengali—the essence they wanted to weave. This journey, which began with threads and stories, has now become a movement. Suta’s founders, Sujata and Tanya Biswas, were in Lucknow on Friday to participate in a FICCI FLO Lucknow Chapter event. An inspiring evening was organized at Hotel Clarks Avadh to promote women entrepreneurship.
The event featured the Suta Sisters, who shared their inspiring journey of dreams, determination, and entrepreneurial resolve. Their story deeply impacted the women entrepreneurs present and inspired them to pursue their passion and achieve their dreams with confidence.
Vandita Agarwal, Chairperson of FICCI FLO Lucknow Chapter, said, “Through this event, I want to encourage all startups and women-led businesses to share their stories. We have shared the FLO platform with our members so they can showcase their work and their journeys. I believe the FICCI FLO platform is so powerful that it can amplify, nurture, and support each other’s growth stories.”
The evening was thoughtfully organized and included engaging conversations, interactive speed networking, presentation of innovative ideas, and meaningful business exchanges. Members actively participated, exchanging business cards, and exploring opportunities for collaboration in various fields. The Suta Sisters’ inspiring journey from tradition to transformation inspired all FLO members to leave behind their obstacles, believe in themselves, and create change for the future. “The Story of Two Women and Their Six Yards” concluded with an empowering message, leaving attendees inspired, connected, and ready to reach new milestones in their professional journeys. The event was moderated by Aditi Jaggi Rastogi.
A lucky draw was held by Suta at the event, in which three winners (Payal, Jyoti, and Tulika Chandra) were gifted Suta sarees.
FLO’s Textile Head Swati Verma, Senior Vice Chairperson Simran Sahni, Devanshi Seth, Supriya Agarwal, Vanita Yadav, and Bhavana Abhinesh, along with over 150 other members, were present at the event.
