TIL Desk Lucknow/ The Annual Training Camp (CATC – 211) for naval NCC cadets kicked off at La Martiniere College on 23 June 2022. The Camp has been organized by 3 UP Naval Unit, under the aegis of NCC Group Head Quarters Lucknow. Over 300 senior and junior cadets – both boys & girls from 13 Schools / Colleges of Lucknow are participated in the camp.
The aim of this camp is to impart professional naval training to NCC Cadets with special emphasis on developing unity and discipline along with leadership, camaraderie and team-work. In his opening address, the Camp Commandant & Commanding Officer of 3 UP Naval Unit Captain (Indian Navy) Navendu Saxena said that the cadets will be exposed to weapon handling, swimming, boat pulling, Parade Training, ship modelling, seamanship, navigation, yoga and physical training. He urged all cadets to take keen interest in all activities and make the best use of this opportunity.
The training team at the camp includes ANOs Lt D K Singh of Lucknow University, IInd Officer Joseph Masih of La Martiniere, IInd Officer Virendra Singh of Khalsa College, and Chief Instructor Master Chief Petty Officer R C Yadav along with combatant sailors and NCC civilian staff.
The 10-day camp will help achieve the mandatory A/B/C certification for NCC cadets. Importantly, it will also help them to learn aspects of National Integration and nation building, which will help them evolve into responsible citizens in future.
