TIL Desk Lucknow/ A Course Ending Parade was held at Officers Training College, Army Medical Corps Centre and College, Lucknow on successful conclusion of Medical Officers Basic Course (MOBC)-245 on 02 Feb 2024.
The nine weeks’ course imparts intensive combat medical support training to young Armed Forces Medical and Dental Officers in order to empower them for effectively performing their duties and transform young professionals to medical and dental officers. The course comprised of 119 officers including 26 lady officers with Tri Services representation.
The parade was marked by military precision and customary elegance. As a salute to Nari Shakti, the first ever lady officer to hold the coveted appointment of Commandant, AMC Centre & College and OIC Records and Colonel Commandant AMC, Lt Gen Kavita Sahai, SM, VSM, reviewed the Parade which was led into the drill square by a lady officer, Capt Surbhi of 2136 Field Hospital, the Parade Adjutant.
Captain Tanuj Chopra of 341 Medium Regiment was adjudged Best All round Officer of the course and was awarded Commandant’s Rolling Trophy. Captain Amit Singh of 46 Rashtriya Rifle Battalion was awarded Major Laishram Jyotin Singh, Ashok Chakra Memorial Trophy for being Best Officer in Field Events.
While addressing the young officers, Lt Gen Kavita Sahai exhorted them to uphold the traditions of Army Medical Corps by maintaining the highest order of professional competence. She also advised the officers to continuously upgrade and build upon the knowledge imparted at Officers Training College. Stressing upon the opportunities provided by the Armed Forces, she encouraged them to work hard to further their professional aspirations and stand committed to quality patient care for our troops in field and peace. She complimented all of them for their excellent turnout and meticulous conduct of parade.
A large number of Armed Forces Medical Services officers witnessed the parade along with more than 200 proud parents and relatives of the course officers.
