Eight day Annual Training Camp conducted by 19 UP Girl's Battalion NCC concludes

TIL Desk Lucknow/ The eight-day Annual Training Camp conducted by 19 Uttar Pradesh Girls Battalion under National Cadet Corps, Lucknow Headquarters from 10 November 2022 to 17 November 2022 at Army Medical Corps Center, Lucknow, under the leadership of Commanding Officer Colonel Deepak Kumar, concluded on 17 November 2022 with prize distribution. Girl cadets of various schools and colleges under Lucknow headquarters participated in this camp.

During this camp, drill, weapon training, map reading, guard of honor, personality development, disaster management, leadership, life skills etc. were imparted for the all-round development of the cadets. Apart from this important topics like road safety by traffic department officials, use of fire fighting equipment by fire department, women safety by officers of Uttar Pradesh Police and health and hygiene were also discussed by the experts.

Along with this, information about various opportunities for the youth in the army was given by Colonel P Chatterjee, the recruiting officer from the zonal Recruitment Office, under career counselling. Under Medical Hospital Attachment, selected cadets were provided training in first aid, life saving, CPR and advanced dressing skills by medical experts at Army Command Hospital. Various competitions (debate, basketball, kho-kho, firing, group songs, drill) were also organized during the camp in which the cadets participated with full enthusiasm. Group Commander Brigadier Ravi Kapoor from Lucknow Headquarters also inspected the camp.

Col. Deepak Kumar while awarding the cadets motivated them to move ahead with determination and focus on the goal and expressed heartfelt thanks to Commanding Officer and officials of 1 Military Training Batallion of AMC Center and School for providing their infrastructure and administrative arrangements for the camp and various local administration officials to train the cadets for their better future.

The results of individual competitions were as follows-

(a) Firing-Gold Medal to Cadet Rubina Bano, Cadet Shraddha Mishra, Cadet Priyanshi Sharma. Silver medal to Cadets Akshita Shukla, Khushi Sahu and Shradha Devi. Special prize was given to Cadet Ankita Gangwar for making the smallest group in firing.
(b) Drill(SW)- Gold to LCpl Jayashree and UO Sakshi. Silver to Cadet Kamakshi Pandey, SUO Shivi Bajpai.
(c) Drill (JW) – Gold to Cadet Devishi Verma , Cadet Samridhi Srivastava. Silver to Cadet Ananya Singh, Cadet Lavanya Singh
(d) Debate (SW) – Gold to Cadet Jayshree Srivastava, Silver to Cadet Suman Singh
(e) Debate (JW)- Gold to Cadet Insha Haider. Silver to Cadet Shriyanshi
(f) Prizes were given to cadets tenanting camp appointments of Company Havildar Major, Company Quarter Master and Batallion Havildar Major.
Eight day Annual Training Camp successfully concluded with NCC Anthem.
