A Major Milestone in Veteran Healthcare in a landmark initiative aimed at enhancing healthcare facilities for ex-servicemen and their dependents, Medanta Hospital Lucknow has been formally empanelled under the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS). The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged between the Indian Army, represented by Major General Salil Seth, General Officer Commanding, Madhya Uttar Pradesh Sub Area and Medanta Hospital, represented by Dr. Rakesh Kapoor, Medical Director, along with senior Heads of Departments.
This empanelment fulfils a long-standing demand of the veteran community. Medanta, being the largest super-speciality hospital in Lucknow and adjoining areas, will provide cutting-edge healthcare at the doorstep to nearly five lakh veterans and dependents from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and neighbouring states.
The hospital will offer comprehensive clinical services such as cardiology, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, oncology, nephrology with dialysis, neurology, neurosurgery including spine, organ transplant, orthopaedics including joint replacement, paediatrics, urology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, psychiatry, dermatology, critical care, obstetrics & gynaecology, and infectious diseases. In addition, advanced diagnostic and laboratory services including MRI, CT Scan, PET CT, mammography, spirometry, sleep study, and molecular biology, along with emergency care, trauma services, transfusion facilities, and ambulance support will also be available.
This milestone ensures that veterans and their families no longer need to travel to Delhi or Gurugram for super-speciality treatment. By bringing world-class healthcare closer, the empanelment of Medanta Lucknow is a giant leap forward in honouring the selfless service of veterans and providing them the dignity, care, and well-being they deserve.
