Farewell Ceremony Organized on the Retirement of Lucknow NCC Group Commander Brigadier Ravi Kapoor

TIL Desk Lucknow/ Brigadier Ravi Kapoor, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Lucknow retired on 31 Jan 2023 after 34 years of military service and 18 months in NCC. On this occasion, a grand farewell ceremony was organized at NCC Group Headquarters, Lucknow.

His farewell ceremony was conducted according to the customs of the Indian Army. All the officers present there honored him by garlanding. After that NCC Group Headquarters presented him a memento. Brigadier Ravi Kapoor was made to sit in a respectfully decorated jeep. According to the tradition of the Indian Army, his farewell was done by towing the jeep with flower showers and raising slogans.

Brigadier Ravi Kapoor was commissioned from the Indian Military Academy Dehradun. He got his early education from Birla Vidya Mandir Nainital. He did B.Tech (Civil) from BITS Pilani. Brig Ravi Kapoor obtained MPhil from DAVV Indore. Company Commander and Staff in Jammu and Kashmir and North Eastern States have performed well. Brigadier Ravi Kapoor has provided excellent training to the cadets of 10 battalions of Lucknow Group for regional and national level competitions with his highly intense experience.

Brigadier Ravi Kapoor has completed his 18 months NCC tenure with great discipline and efficiency. He has encouraged and guided all the 10 battalions comprising the Lucknow group comprising a total of 20,000 NCC cadets. Brigadier Ravi Kapoor has conducted about 40 NCC camps for the battalions. Brigadier Ravi Kapoor has always contributed significantly in maintaining the pride and status of the Lucknow Group in all the national and state level camps. Officers, ANOs, army inspectors, state employees and cadets of 10 battalions of Lucknow have inspired everyone to move forward at national and state level. He has always guided the hearts of all in his NCC tenure to participate enthusiastically for a bright future, commission in the Armed Forces and go to Agniveer.

Brigadier Ravi Kapoor’s farewell ceremony was attended by the commanding officers, administrative officers, ANOs, army inspectors, cadets and all the staff of the Lucknow Group Headquarters of the entire Battalions.
