TIL Desk Lucknow:
MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) students from the Department of Public Health Dentistry at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) visited the 56 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Daulatganj as part of an educational tour. The objective of the visit was to familiarize the students with the functioning and operation of the sewage treatment plant and its role in environmental conservation.
During the visit, the students observed the entire wastewater treatment process firsthand and gained a detailed understanding of the various technical stages involved. Plant In-charge Amresh Sinha provided the students with key information regarding the sewage treatment mechanism, plant operations, maintenance, and the safe disposal of treated water. He also elaborated on modern sewage management systems and the STP’s role in environmental protection.
Describing the educational tour as highly beneficial, the students noted that it provided them with practical insights into the sewage treatment system—knowledge that would prove helpful in understanding both their academic curriculum and subjects related to public health.
