TIL Desk Lucknow:👉Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani, Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Command relinquished command of Central Command on 30 June 2024 and further will take over as Vice Chief of the Army Staff (VCOAS) in New Delhi.
On the occasion of his relinquishing Command, Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani paid tribute to the bravehearts at Central Command War Memorial SMRITIKA and reviewed a Guard of Honour. A visionary military professional and outstanding leader, his tenure was marked with a renewed impetus on operational capacity building and technology infusion in Central Command.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani was commissioned in Garhwal Rifles in 1985. He is an alumnus of Joint Services Command Staff College, Bracknell (UK) and National Defence College, New Delhi. He holds a Master of Arts Degree from King’s College, London and an M.Phil in Defence Studies from Madras University.
In his illustrious career spanning over 37 years, he has served across a wide spectrum of conflict and terrain profiles and has tenanted a host of prestigious Command, Staff and Instructional appointments. Having extensive experience in Command and Staff appointments on Western and Northern Borders, the General Officer has insightful knowledge and deep understanding of operational dynamics on both frontiers.
Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani took over command of the Central Army on 01 Mar 2023. During his tenure as Army Commander, he carried forwarded the good work of his predecessors and gave a renewed impetus to transform Central Command in a cohesive war-fighting team, capable of deterring and decisively winning conflicts through synergised joint force operations and self-reliant capability enhancement across multiple domains. Rapid progress was made in development of infrastructure in the Command Theatre, aimed at enhancing overall operational effectiveness and readiness.
