TIL Desk Lucknow/ As part of the ongoing Annual Training Camp for Naval NCC Cadets, a Firing practice event was conducted for over 250 Cadets at 41 Brigade Firing Range with special focus on Girl Cadets. Over 80 young Girl Cadets carried out firing practice using. 22 rifle. The enthusiasm and excitement among the young cadets were visible, as many of them got a chance to handle a weapon for the first time. The training team for the firing activity was led by the Camp ANO IInd Officer Mrs Vimlesh Mishra of AP Sen Girls Inter College and Gunnery Instructor K K Tiwari along with naval sailors J P Singh, Ankur Shukla and Satish.
The instructors conducted rigorous weapon training, dry firing practice and simulated drills over last 5 days before the firing practice on the range. Gunnery Instructor Petty Officer Tiwari informed that last year firing practices were restricted due to Covid restrictions, but from now a regular firing practice will be conducted for NCC cadets. The firing practices not only provide valuable exposure to Cadets, but also give the cadets a chance to get selected for higher level firing competitions at state and national level.
A lecture on topics like Army Recruitment, SSB for NCC Cadets was also organized during the ongoing ten-day Annual Training Camp organized by 3 UP Naval NCC Unit at Lucknow La Martiniere College. Colonel Vinod Joshi, Commanding Officer of 20 UP Girls Battalion NCC, delivered lectures to NCC cadets in the camp on topics like the path to get a commission in the armed forces, the process of SSB and preparation for SSB.
