TIL Desk Lucknow:On the occasion of International Education Day, a heartwarming event was organized at Sindhi Girls College by Sapno Ki Udaan NGO in collaboration with Suez Foundation India. The event brought together acid attack survivor women who shared their inspiring journeys with the college students, leaving them motivated and empowered.
Shalini Sahu, an acid attack survivor, shared her story of resilience and triumph. She highlighted the crucial role played by Suez Foundation India in her life, saying, “The foundation not only supported me but also enhanced my skills, enabling me to stand on my own feet. Today, I am self-reliant and no longer dependent on anyone.”
Addressing the gathering, Suez India Project Director Rajesh Mathpal emphasized the importance of education and self-respect. He said, “When we talk about shaping the future of children, we must prioritize their rights, education, and dignity. This is especially critical for girls and women who are fighting societal stereotypes to establish their identity, such as acid attack survivors.”
Sindhi Girls College teacher, Shweta Kehlwani, praised the initiative, expressing her gratitude to Suez Foundation India and Sapno Ki Udaan NGO. She said, “This initiative not only empowers women but also serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for society.”
The event also saw the participation of Pankaj Singh, Akshat Saxena, and Sumit Singh from Suez India, along with Khushi Pandey from Sapno Ki Udaan Foundation. Their presence underscored the commitment to fostering change and creating opportunities for those in need.
