Prime Minister Modi had appealed to the citizens of the country to join the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, which aims to promote environmental protection and increase greenery. Under this initiative, large-scale tree plantation is being carried out in Lucknow.
Message of Environmental Conservation: During the plantation, Shamim Akhtar, GM of the Jal Nigam, said, “This is an important step in maintaining the balance of the environment. Trees and plants provide us with pure oxygen, and in the future, our natural surroundings will be even more prosperous.”
Modern Techniques for Plant Care: Rajesh Mathpal, Project Director of Suez India, stated, “In the first phase, more than 500 fruit-bearing and shade-giving plants are being planted under the Bharwara STP Plant. Additionally, we will also practice organic farming. Modern techniques, including geo-tagging, will be used to monitor the condition of the plants. It is our responsibility to continue efforts for the conservation of plants and the environment.”
This campaign not only promotes environmental protection but also sends a positive message to society. Through ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name,’ people are planting saplings in honor of their mothers, which is a commendable step.
