TIL Desk Lucknow/ The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE)along with its strategic implementation and knowledge partner, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) and with support from the Government of Uttar Pradesh held a press conference today to announce the upcoming mega recruitment drive Kaushal Mahotsav scheduled on March 4th and 5th in Lucknow to promote employment and apprenticeship opportunities across sectors for empowering the local youth. The job fair will be inaugurated by Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of Defence and will also be attended by Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education and, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
The press conference was inaugurated by BJP Leader, Neeraj Singh and witnessed the presence of esteemed officials including PK Pundir, Jansampark Adhikari, Sansad Karyalay; Anand Dwivedi, Deputy Director, MoLE; Divakar Tripathi, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha; Dr. Maneesh Mishra, Executive Vice President-Strategy, NSDC and Pangkhuri Borgohain, General Manager- Industry Collaborations, NSDC.
The Kaushal Mahotsav will be held at Colvin Taluqdars’ College, Lucknow and it envisages to enhance skill demand across industries by bringing recruiters and jobseekers on a single platform to provide on-spot job offers to boost employment and livelihood opportunities for India’s youth, as well as accelerate the economic growth and development in the state.
Expressing his views on the announcement of Kaushal Mahotsav, Neeraj Singh, BJP Leader, said, “The rate of development in Uttar Pradesh has fastened under the leadership of Honourable Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath. We have witnessed the success of the Global Investors Summit in Uttar Pradesh which saw participation from 18,000 companies. We have signed MoUs worth Rs 35 lakh crore in infrastructure, aviation, road, logistics and other sectors which means that we would need more skilled human resource for all these industries.”
He further expressed his gratitude towards Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of Defence and Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education and, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and said, “India is number one when it comes to Ease of Doing Business and the biggest medium for building prosperity in the country is to create employment. Such events are bringing great opportunities for the youth of the state. Kaushal Mahotsav will be organized time to time so that our talented youth gets relevant opportunities at the local, national, and international levels”.
Divakar Tripathi, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, “The essence of the modern economy depends on the pace of mobility. The Defence ministry is constructing over 19 over bridges, and a 105 KM ring road in Lucknow due to which, a lot of companies are looking to provide employment in the city. We are thankful to NSDC, MSDE, and MoLE for organizing Kaushal Mahotsav in Uttar Pradesh which will further give impetus to these plans. This initiative provides a distinctive platform for skilled youth to connect with recruiters and receive immediate employment opportunities, addressing the job supply and demand gap. This, in turn, will give shape to the vision of our projects, thereby building India 2.0.”
Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Maneesh Mishra, Executive Vice President-Strategy, National Skill Development Corporation, said, “Kaushal Mahotsav, is expected to unlock the potential of talented youth, enabling them to be ready for the rapidly changing job market. As India progresses towards the next phase of India, the private sector’s involvement is crucial in ensuring its success. Thus, initiatives such as Kaushal Mahotsav are vital in bridging the skills gap by providing a common platform for jobseekers and employers. The event will offer various opportunities, including counselling sessions, registration under different schemes, skill exhibitions, and more, aimed at developing a skilled and resilient workforce for different sectors including automotive, logistics, finance, amongst others.
The mega recruitment drive will see participation from sectors like automotive, logistics, production, electronics, apparel and tourism and will be attended by organizations like 108 emergency services, G4S, L&T construction, Portea Heal at Home, Apollo Home Care, JBM, HDB Financial, HDFC Life Insurance, Welspun, Barbeque Nation. There are approximately30,000vacancies for the participants, and over 10,105 candidates have already registered for the Mahotsav, providing vacancies in over 20 sectors by over 100companies. To apply, the candidates must have a minimum age of 18 years to and the candidates must carry a copy of their resume, Aadhar card and passport-size photographs to the respective venues.
To apply for the job, candidates can register on the Kaushal Mahotsav website https://kaushalmahotsav.nsdcdigital.org/and get through an interview process to receive a job offer letter on the spot. The candidates can apply for different job roles listed on the portal in sectors like food &agriculture, apparel, automotive, BFSI and many more.
The proposed Kaushal Mahotsav will be a two-day event accompanied with several activities including counselling, pre-screening, motivational sessions, providing information about many career courses and more to the young candidates. The event will witness participation from multiple Sector Skill Councils (SSCs), staffing organizations and employers. The Kaushal Mahotsav will be open to all including participants with various educational qualifications and candidates belonging to schemes like PMKK, PMKVY, apprenticeship and several skill developments schemes.
Several Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) and companies will also exhibit their offerings through a skill exhibition, raising awareness about skill development in the youth. The respective candidates can take a free psychometric test, participate in group counselling, and learn about various career modules to help them shape their careers. The event will also feature experts, motivational speakers, and career advisors to assist candidates in making informed decisions to advance their professional growth and development.
A flagship initiative of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Kaushal Mahotsav is yet another step-in boosting employment prospects for the youth on a large scale, with speed and high standards, to achieve the mission of a ‘Skilled India’. The Rozgar Mela is a series of events periodically held in the State for converging recruiters and job seekers on a single platform to enable local youth with employment opportunities.
