Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, Director General (DG) of National Cadet Corps felicitated six cadets including 04 girls’ cadets and six supporting staff by gifting them with medals and plaques to recognize their contribution to the NCC at Surya Auditorium in Lucknow Cantonment on the second day of his visit on 01st May 2025. Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh is on a two-day visit to Lucknow. He also presented DG’s Commendation Card to Maj Divya Sharma, AO of 19 UP Girls Battalion NCC, Lucknow and Lt Pooran Singh, ANO of 37 UP Battalion NCC, Ghaziabad.
In his address, Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh complimented the cadets on their achievements and advised them to use the NCC training to emerge as responsible citizens of the country and release their true potential in the profession of their choice. A large number of NCC officers, Staff and cadets of Uttar Pradesh NCC Directorate Lucknow were present on this occasion.
Later, Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh accompanied by Maj Gen Vikram Kumar, Additional Directorate General of Uttar Pradesh NCC Directorate visited NCC Group Headquarters, Lucknow and 67 UP Battalion NCC, Lucknow where he was briefed by Col Prashant Tripathi, Offg Group Commander and Col Puneet Srivastava, Commanding Officer of 67 UP Battalion NCC, Lucknow respectively. Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh expressed his satisfaction at their performance and exhorted them to continue the good work.
The visit of DG NCC culminated with his interaction with the cadets and staff wherein he mixed freely with them.
