TIL Desk Lucknow/ Under Officer (UO) Vaishnavi Giri of 19 UP NCC Girls Battalion was awarded ‘DGNCC Commendation Card’ on 01 Jun 2022 by Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, Director General NCC, for her high order of talent, sincerity towards the organisation and her meaningful contribution to NCC and the society. She was the only Cadet of Uttar Pradesh to be awarded DGNCC Commendation Card during this year.
UO Vaishnavi Giri NCC has shown leadership qualities and standing among 105 cadets of IT College, Lucknow. Apart from her impactful participation in various cultural events at Directorate level, like NCC Day-2020 and Raj Bhawan function held in 2021 at Governor House, Lucknow, she was part of the Lucknow group for Inter Group Competition (IGC) team. She also represented Uttar Pradesh in Republic Day Parade-2022. She was the part of UP Cultural Team, which stood Overall First Position in all 27 NCC Directorates. UO Vaishnavi Giri was also selected as Solo Singer and performed in front of Raksha Mantri during RDC-2022.
UO Vaishnavi Giri has been played a crucial role in many activities like – Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) Camp, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Fit India Campaign and Nari Shakti Mission, etc. To further contribute to the cause of humanity and to present herself as a role model for her juniors, she donated blood twice and motivated several others to do the same. She was also one of the volunteers during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and played an important role in helping Civilians in difficult times. UO Vaishnavi Giri is an extremely talented cadet and an active participant in all activities of NCC conducted at various levels.
