Educational tour of Daulatganj Sewerage Treatment Plant organized for King George Medical College students

TIL Desk Lucknow:👉103 nursing students of 5th semester of King George Medical College (KGMU) made an educational tour of Daulatganj Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) on Wednesday. This event was organized by Suez India under the ‘One City One Operator’ initiative, in which students were given practical information about urban water management and sewage treatment processes.

Experts from Suez India explained the functioning of the plant to the students and told how sewage is treated and made reusable here. During this, the role of STP in environmental protection, water recycling and Suez’s contribution to urban development were also highlighted.

KGMU teacher Nisha Yadav said, “This tour was a valuable educational experience for our students. Thanks to Suez India and Jal Nigam, who helped in developing a practical understanding of topics like urban water management and disaster risk reduction. This will develop the skills of the students.”

Rajesh Mathpal, Project Director, Suez India, said, “Such events provide students with a first-hand understanding of the technical aspects of water management. We hope this experience will inspire their professional contributions in the future.”

The students found the tour “enlightening” and said that seeing the actual processes of sewage treatment gave them a deeper understanding of the challenges and solutions in urban resource management.
