TIL Desk/World/New Delhi/ United States National Security Advisor Lieutenant General HR McMaster is in Delhi to hold talks with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval. He is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
McMaster yesterday met Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed bilateral ties, Afghan situation and rising tensions between India, Pakistan. Lt Gen McMaster also met Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz in Islamabad.
Aziz briefed Lt Gen McMaster on the policies being pursued by the Pakistan government that have resulted in improved security environment and economic turnaround in the country. A report quoted Aziz, as saying that that Pakistan remains determined to continue its fight as part of the National Action Plan until terrorism is completely eliminated from the country.
