TIL Desk Lucknow: Army Medical Corps (AMC) Centre & College celebrated 260th Anniversary of Army Medical Corps on 03 Apr 2024. Lt Gen Kavita Sahai, SM, VSM, Commandant, AMC Centre & College, Officer-in-Charge AMC Records and Colonel Commandant Army Medical Corps laid a wreath at Army Medical Corps War Memorial ‘Shraddhanjali’ and paid homage to combatants of Army Medical Corps who had sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
A number of sports events and competitions alongwith an entertainment programme were organised for the staff, families and children of the AMC Centre & College as part of these celebrations.
A Special Sainik Sammelan was held wherein Lt Gen Kavita Sahai addressed a large gathering of Officers and troops. She exhorted all ranks of Army Medical Corps to strive hard to maintain the high standards of training imparted so that the best of health care can be rendered to the soldiers both during peace and war. She also complimented all personnel for the tireless and exemplary services rendered by them and keeping the Flag of AMC flying high. Lt Gen Kavita Sahai conveyed her best wishes to all ranks and their families.
The celebrations also encompassed renaming the AMC Museum to “Capt Anshuman Singh, Kirti Chakra Sangrahalaya” to honour the valour of the braveheart officer who, embodying the motto “Sarve Santu Niramaya”, sacrificed his life in the line of duty to the nation.
The Army Medical Corps anniversary celebrations culminated with a social evening organised on 03 Apr 2024 at the AMC Centre & College Officers’ Mess, where veteran officers of the Corps and their spouses were the guests.
