TIL Desk/National/New Delhi/ Underworld don Ravi Pujari has been arrested in Senegal, according to media reports. Pujari is one of the most notorious names in the underworld and has been mentored by gangster Chhota Rajan, who is currently serving a life sentence in a jail in Navi Mumbai.
The fugitive gangster was earlier believed to be hiding in Australia. Pujari, who is from Padbidri near Udupi in Mangalore, is said to be fluent in English and Kannada.
The notorious extortionist, wanted in dozens of cases of threat calls to Bollywood stars and other prominent personalities, has been on the run for several years.
In January, two alleged members of the Ravi Pujari gang – William Rodricks and Akash Shetty – were arrested by the Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) year for threatening a builder. Rodricks was arrested from suburban Goregaon on January 15 after he allegedly demanded Rs 2 crore from the builder and also threatened his relatives.
