Kashmir Unrest: Police ask to Imams to avoid “Provocative Speeches”

TIL Desk/National/J&K-With separatists calling for protests across Kashmir on Friday, Jammu and Kashmir Police have asked the imams of mosques not to deliver “provocative” speeches.” Imams and khateebs (preachers) are requested not to deliver provocative speeches so that the situation is not exploited by vested interests,” a police spokesman said.

He said it has been observed for past one month that people were being forced to assemble after Friday prayers on the roads.”Many a times these gatherings are manipulated to throw stones upon the police and security force deployments. In order to avoid such situations the parents are requested not to allow their children to take part in such activities.

Youth are advised not to fall prey to such machinations,” the spokesman said.
