TIL Desk Sports/ Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and her Croatian partner Ivan Dodig will face off against seventh seeds Rohan Bopanna and Gabriela Dabrowski in the quarter-final clash of the mixed doubles event here at the French Open today.
Yesterday, Mirza and Dodig booked their place in the last-eight after sweeping aside New Zealand’s Artem Sitak and Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina 6-2, 6-4 in a one-sided second round contest.
Meanwhile, Bopanna and Dabrowski registered a 6-3, 6-2 win over the French duo Chloe Paquet and Benoit Paire to storm into the quarter-finals.
Bopanna, however, knocked out of the men’s doubles event after he and his Uruguayan partner Pablo Cuevas suffered a 6-7, 2-6 defeat against the Brazilian-British team of Bruno Soares and Jamie Murray.
In men’s singles clash, world number one Andy Murray will also look to secure a last-four berth when he takes on Karen Khachanov of Russia in men’s singles event later today.
