TIL Desk/Sports/Lucknow/ Dedicated to celebrating the achievements of women, Phoenix United Lucknow organised a Women Premiere League. The pitch was made ready for women to display their cricketing skills in Lucknow. A total of 84 matches were played between 26 teams over four weekends between March 25th till April 16th.
Sports galaxy club team won the match in club category, GCRG school in the school category and navyug in the college category. Each team consisted of six players. The women cricket league had eight cricket clubs, nine school teams and nine college teams who participated in the premiere league.
Two finalist team had qualified in each category and played the final matches. The finalist teams in club category were sports galaxy, Jyoti club. CMS Aliganj and GCRG school played the final match in school category and Navyug PG college and GCRG college were the finalists among the college category.
During the all-women premiere the excitement among the teams and the patrons of Phoenix United enchanted the mall, showcasing the talent women playing cricket.
Senior Centre Director, Phoenix Mills Ltd., Mr. Sanjeev Sarin said, “March is the month to celebrate the achievements of women in their respective field. Therefore, this time we had organised an all-women cricket league at our mall. Our patrons to enjoyed and cheered up the players of their favourite team.”
