TIL Desk Lucknow/ Surya Command is conducting an equestrian display on 13 April, 2024 at Surya Khel Parisar in Lucknow. 60 horses from the Army Service Corps and the Remount Veterinary Corps (including their Polo teams and the Tent pegging and Mule trick riding teams of ASC), will be part of the display, which is being organised to promote equestrian sports.
The display will include an exhibition polo match and feats such as Mule trick riding, Tent pegging, Horse skill display and show jumping. The event will be preceded by various equestrian competitions for young budding riders of the Central Command Equitation Training Node (CCETN). The CCETN has kept equestrian activities alive and thriving by imparting basic horsemanship training to the young budding riders of the Lucknow garrison. It is also noted that Surya Command, has the largest repository of animal resources of the Indian Army.
