TIL Desk Lucknow:The Financial Planning Conclave ‘Samanvay,’ hosted by Surya Command, today brought together military and civil officers in Lucknow to improve defence finance across eight states within the command’s area of responsibility. The event focused on fostering collaboration and enhancing operational readiness in defence spending.
Key speakers SG Dastidar, Financial Advisor Defence Services, and Lt Gen Ulhas Kirpekar, Director General of Financial Planning, provided valuable insights into the complexities of defence finance, emphasizing the critical need for synergy between military and civil establishments.
Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Command, stressed the importance of collaborative efforts among various institutions. He highlighted the necessity for optimal budget utilization to ensure the armed forces remain operationally prepared for contemporary and future warfare challenges.
The conclave was inaugurated by Chief of Staff, Central Command Lt Gen Mukesh Chadha, who set the stage for productive discussions around financial planning within the military framework.
‘Samanvay,’ which translates to ‘coordination,’ is an annual initiative aimed at strengthening the relationship between civil and military authorities in financial matters, thereby strengthening the defence apparatus of the nation. This year’s gathering reaffirmed the commitment of all involved to work towards a cohesive financial strategy that aligns with the operational needs of India’s fighting forces.
