The second match of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series between India and Afghanistan will be played on June 17 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has intensified preparations for the high-profile encounter, with all arrangements being finalized.
Addressing a press conference at the Ekana Stadium on Thursday, UPCA Secretary Prem Manohar Gupta said both teams are expected to arrive in Lucknow by June 15. The Indian team will travel to Lucknow after playing the first ODI in Dharamshala, while the Afghanistan team is also likely to reach the city on the same day. Both teams will participate in a practice session at the stadium on June 16.
UPCA Treasurer Sachin Anand Shukla said special arrangements are being made for spectators in view of the intense summer heat. Free drinking water facilities will be provided within the stadium premises to ensure a comfortable experience for fans. He added that extensive preparations are also underway regarding security, parking, traffic management, and other spectator services.
Providing details about ticket sales, Shukla said ticket prices will start from ₹599, while premium-category tickets will be available for up to ₹25,000. Tickets are being sold through online platforms.
UPCA Media Manager Mohammad Faheem stated that the association is fully committed to hosting another successful international fixture in Lucknow. He expressed confidence that a large number of cricket enthusiasts would attend the match and that the city would once again demonstrate its capability to host major international sporting events.
The upcoming India-Afghanistan ODI has already generated considerable excitement among cricket fans, and a packed stadium is expected on match day.
