TIL Desk Lucknow:SUEZ India, which provides key services related to sewerage management for the city of Lucknow under One City One Operator, organised an educational tour today for 20 working professionals and two teachers of Disaster Management and National Security Executive Programme of National Defence University, Lucknow Campus. This educational tour was organised at the Sewerage Treatment Plant located at Bharwara in Lucknow, where the working professionals got an opportunity to understand the processes of urban water management and sewage treatment.
Experts from SUEZ India explained the functioning of the plant and the sewage treatment process to the working professionals in detail. The working professionals were told how this plant is helping in environmental protection by water recycling and effective management of sewage in Lucknow city. Apart from this, the students were also informed about the role of SUEZ India in the field of urban development and water security. This educational tour proved to be a valuable opportunity for the working professionals, which gave them an opportunity to understand important aspects of urban water management, sewage treatment and environmental protection.
Akanksha Pandey, Assistant Professor, Disaster Management, Rashtriya Raksha Vishwavidyalaya, Lucknow Campus said, “We are running India’s first Executive Master’s Degree Program in the field of National Security and Disaster Management, which is designed for working professionals. Today’s educational tour was very beneficial for our working professionals. I am grateful to SUEZ India, Urban Development Department and Jal Nigam for giving our students an opportunity to understand water management in urban areas, disaster risk reduction processes. The STP at Bharwara is Asia’s largest plant and it gave a valuable learning experience to the working professionals. I am sure this experience will greatly contribute to their studies and skill development.”
