TIL Desk/World/Tehran/ The death toll in the terror attack which struck the Iranian capital on Wednesday has risen to 17, according to the latest official figures released on Thursday.
The Director of the Forensic Medicine Organization, Ahmad Shojai, has that they have identified 13 bodies.
The death toll reported on Wednesday was 12 dead and 52 wounded, some of whom have since died in hospital.
The emergency services said 15 of the injured had been discharged, with the rest remaining hospitalized, several of them in intensive care.
The twin attacks on Wednesday were directed at Iran’s Parliament building and the mausoleum of the late revolutionary leader Ayatollah Khomeini. The Islamic State terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.
