TIL Desk Lucknow: The inaugural ceremony of the 57th AMC Biennial Conference was organised at Maj LJ Singh, Ashok Chakra Auditorium of AMC Centre & College in Lucknow Cantonment on 25 March 2025. The conference was graced by senior officers of Armed Forces Medical Services and Headquarter Central Command.
Lt Gen Sadhna Saxena Nair, AVSM, VSM, DGMS (Army) & Senior Colonel Commandant delivered the welcome address and extended greetings to the senior dignitaries attending this momentous event.
The Keynote Address of the event was delivered by Lt Gen Rajeev Puri, AVSM, VSM, DG (MP & PS), AGs Br, IHQ of MoD (Army), who applauded the immense work being done by the AFMS and exhorted them to continue the glorious traditions and progress on the path of Quality Care for all.
Lt Gen Shivinder Singh, AVSM, Commandant, AMC Centre & College & OIC AMC Records & Colonel Commandant, delivered the Vote for Thanks and conveyed his gratitude to all the senior dignitaries for sparing their valuable time. He also thanked all the functionaries and local formations & units without whose immense effort, this landmark event would not have been possible.
A Medical Exhibition showcasing the latest advances and futuristic medical equipment was also inaugurated by Lt Gen Sadhna Saxena Nair.
The other senior officers who graced the occasion included Lt Gen Vineet Sharma, AVSM, VSM, Director General Dental Services & Colonel Commandant, Lt Gen Shankar Narayan, PVSM, NM, VSM, Commandant, Army Hospital (R&R), Lt Gen Pankaj Purushottam Rao, Commandant, Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and many senior officers of AFMS & HQ Central Command.
AMC Centre and College at Lucknow is the cradle for military and technical training of officers nursing officers and paramedical personnel of the Army and hence always has been the venue for all the events of Biennial Conference.
This Biennial Conference is a time for review and deliberation on relevant issues having significant impact on the functioning of the Corps ranging from incorporation of advancing technology, revolution in military medical practices and automation to image management, communication skills of healthcare workers, legal aspects of healthcare, cadre management, training, welfare, manpower rationalization and career planning, all with the ultimate aim of clientele satisfaction and fructification of the motto of the Corps ‘SARVE SANTU NIRAMAYA’.
The Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) have a glorious tradition in the pursuit of professional excellence and immense dedication in maintaining the morale of the fighting forces on the battlefield and during peacetime. The AFMS is a model of inter-service integration wherein all the three services of the Army, Air Force and Navy are jointly committed to the task of providing comprehensive healthcare service to its clientele. Common training is carried out to foster jointmanship and enhance cooperation and coordination among the three services.
